Supporting Social Diversity at Borneo Art Festival

Held annually at the Convention Hall of Financial Park Labuan, the Borneo Arts Festival (BAF) in partnership with the Labuan Visual Arts Association (LAVISTA) celebrates cultural diversity, creativity and social inclusion by bringing together artists and participants from diverse backgrounds. Showcasing Borneo’s rich heritage through exhibitions and competitions in visual arts, painting, batik, photography, cosplay and more, the festival fosters cross-cultural appreciation, environmental awareness and highlights the evolving role of art in society. The festival also includes visual arts dialogues and contemporary poetry readings to encourage artistic expression and cultural exchange.

In addition to art, BAF will feature guest artist performances, the “JOM Masuk ASWARA” initiative for young talents, a Borneo craft exhibition, a book fair and workshops on traditional instruments such as the Gambus. By bridging traditional and contemporary art forms, the festival promotes community engagement, cultural preservation and inclusivity. Through these efforts, Financial Park Labuan (FPL) supports initiatives that empower artists, preserve heritage and strengthen social cohesion in the region.
